Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Shimla has issued a fresh alert of rainfall and snowfall for several districts of Himachal Pradesh from October 5 to 7.
In its weather forecast bulletin issued from Shimla on Saturday, heavy to very heavy rainfall and snowfall is expected at a few places. A thunderstorm and lightning with high speed wind is also likely to occur at many places starting from Sunday.
The IMD has issued yellow and orange alerts of heavy rainfall for this period with Western disturbances becoming active and precipitation increasing . The prolonged monsoon had left the state only a few days back.
“The districts of Mandi, Kullu, Chamba, Kangra and Una will receive heavy to very heavy rain from October 5 to 7, Lahaul-Spiti district is likely to get snowfall during this period and Shimla, Sirmaur and Solan districts are also likely to get heavy to very heavy rainfall and snowfall on October 7, “ as per the weather forecast report .
