
The Himachal Pradesh government has decided to open a de-addiction and rehabilitation centre at Kotla –Barog in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh.
The announcement in this regard was made by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu while chairing a review meeting with officials of the Social Justice and Empowerment department on Tuesday at Shimla.
He said, “A de-addiction and rehabilitation centre will be established at Kotla-Barog in Sirmaur district at a cost of Rs 5.34 crore, the project will play a key role in providing support and recovery of people involved in drug abuse.”
“The centre will have a capacity of 100 beds and will also be equipped with facilities such as library, gymnasium, sports facilities, besides having provisions for skill and vocational training and soon Doctors and other staff would be appointed in the centre,” he added.
The Chief Minister also directed Deputy Commissioners of Solan and Sirmaur to transfer the land of the Animal Husbandry Department to the Social Justice Department.
Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dhani Ram Shandil and officers from concerned departments were present in the meeting.
