
At least nine persons were buried in Akhara Bazaar Kullu on Wednesday night after a building collapsed due to a landslide .
A police source said, “One death has been confirmed and three persons have been rescued while NDRF, SDRF and rescue teams have launched a search operation to locate five other missing persons; three injured persons are being treated in District hospital Kullu.”
As per information “The incident occurred at about 4 am in the morning when a building collapsed in the Akhara bazar due to a landslide triggered by incessant rain in the region; five Kashmiri labourers are still buried under the rubble.”
DC, SP Kullu and local MLA Sunder Singh Thakur are supervising the rescue operations as NDRF personnel and police teams are trying to rescue the five people still missing after the incident.
