
Putting an end to speculations of another extension to Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary, Prabodh Saxena retired from service on Tuesday.
Saxena was to retire on March 31st this year but was given a six month’s extension by the Central government on the recommendation of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and his tenure was completed on Tuesday.
There were speculations Prabodh Saxena may be given another extension.
A function was organized in the Himachal Pradesh secretariat to give a farewell to Saxena; Additional Chief Secretary KK Pant felicitated him by giving a cap and a memento.
Speaking on the occasion Saxena lauded the contribution of employees in the development of the state saying , “ Himachal Pradesh after becoming a new state has made commendable progress in every field and this could be achieved with the cooperation of leadership, officers and employees, who worked tirelessly even in adverse conditions .”
Sharing his experience of working in the state, Saxena said, “The people of the state are very honest and hard working and while working here I always got a feeling of working in a family and wished them a bright future.”
Senior IAS officers KK Pant and Sanjiv Gupta are stated to be in the race for next Chief Secretary of Himachal.
