Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has strongly denied the allegation of former CM and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur of not responding to calls made by the latter.

Talking to media persons at Shimla on Friday, the CM said   , “I and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri spoke to Jai Ram Thakur about the situation in his area and told him helicopters have been deployed to provide relief to affected people.”

Jai Ram Thakur while talking to media persons at Mandi on Thursday had accused the CM for not attending his phone calls since morning.

The CM said , “ I had talked to him on Thursday and can show the call record but if is lying what can be done; devastation this time is quite severe and nobody should try to draw mileage out of loss of lives and huge destruction as we are doing relief and restoration work on war footing.”

“Fourteen bodies have been recovered so far and efforts are on to trace 31 missing persons. The state government is making all efforts to help people in distress and I have made an aerial survey of the Seraj area” CM stated .

Forty-three people have been killed and at least 37 are missing in Himachal Pradesh due to flash floods on June 30 and an initial loss of nearly Rs 5000 crore has been assessed .
