The body of missing Chief Engineer of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPCCL), Vimal Negi, was recovered from the Bhakra Dam reservoir near Swarghat on Tuesday.

Negi had gone missing from Shimla on March 10 after attending his office and was stated to be quite upset due to the ‘toxic’ work culture of HPCCL. His location after his missing report was last traced near Kandror Bridge (Ghumarwein) in Bilaspur district.

The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited employees association had also been demanding a thorough probe into the incident.

The police have detained the managing director of HPCCL on the complaint of the deceased’s wife.
