The Himachal Pradesh government has ordered investigation against former Chief Secretary and Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) Chairman Chairman Shrikant Baldi in the alleged misuse of RERA fund for gifting apple boxes to bureaucrats across multiple states

The state government has directed the officials to submit all records and a detailed report on the matter.

State Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Rajesh Dharmani confirming the move said , “ “We have sought a report along with all relevant records, and we will be verifying the facts; the  Sukhu administration is committed to accountability and will take strict action against any misuse of taxpayers’ money, “ he added .

 “The allegation pertains to Baldi’s tenure as Himachal RERA Chairman, during which he allegedly approved the purchase of 49 boxes of apples costing about Rs 44000, from the state-run Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation (HPMC) to gift these to senior RERA officials from other states, including Haryana and Rajasthan, besides certain top ranking Police officers”.
