At least twenty houses, including cow sheds, were destroyed in a major fire incident in Tand village under Banjar subdivision of Kullu district on Wednesday.
The fire reportedly started near the cow shed of a villager, Dalip Singh and quickly spread to nearby cow sheds and houses.
Fire tenders from Banjar, Larji and Kullu were rushed to the spot, and efforts were on to extinguish the blaze.
An official from the local administration stated, “At least twenty houses, a storehouse of the local deity Sheshnag, and several cow sheds were completely destroyed in the fire. Initial estimates suggest a loss of nearly Rs 10 crore.”
The local administration has provided immediate relief to the affected families.
