Three passengers traveling in a private bus lost their lives on Tuesday morning in Ani Sub –Division of Kullu district when the driver of the bus lost control over the bus and it fell into a deep gorge.
The accident occurred at about 11.30 am when a private bus going from Karsog to Ani veered off the road near Shakehad on Ani – Shwad road.
The Superintendent of Police Kullu Kartikeyan Gokulchanderan said, “A private bus carrying 42 passengers met with an accident near Shakehad; three passengers including driver of the bus died in the accident and at least two dozen passengers were injured.”
The body of the bus after falling in the gorge was torn apart and locals and police personnel pulled out the passengers from the bus with great difficulty.
Chief Minister Sukhvidner Singh Sukhu and Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri have expressed their condolences over the death of three passengers in the accident.
