The students of Indus Global School Mandi presented a colorful programme at Sanskriti Sadan Mandi on its annual function Indostav on Sunday.
The Superintendent of Police (SP) Mandi Sakshi Verma was the Chief Guest of the function and SP Kullu Dr. Karthikeyan Gokulchandran was the guest of honour in the function.
The function began with lighting of a lamp by the Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour and Chairman of the school Chandan Bhatia among others.
Addressing the audience on the occasion Sakshi Verma said, “Such events are possible only with the coordination and hard work of the teachers and the students.”
She said , “ We have to work together to create a better future for our children to build a better society to take our country ahead and parents , teachers and every one of us have to work in complete harmony and with social responsibility .”
Praising the Indus Global School, the chief guest said, “The school pays attention to the overall development of the students and the certificates of appreciation given in different activities are proof of this”.
The annual report of the school was presented by Director –cum – Principal Madan Lal.
The students started the presentation of cultural programmes with a soulful Saraswati Vandana, invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati which was followed by Himachali Nati, Rajasthani Dance, Gujarati, Marathi, Haryanvi dance and Holi Dance etc.
The Kalyug dance and Punjab Bhangara performed by the students kept the audience spell bound.
The Chief Guest and the Guest of honour also gave away the prizes to students excelling in academics, sports and cultural activities.
The Best Student Award was won by Vanshika Thakur of class XII, best teacher award was given to Tanu Rana and Sonia Sharma. While Agni house was adjudged as the best house it also won first prize for sports, second prize was won by Akash house. Prithvi House won a trophy for cultural activities.
The Best supporting staff award was given to Narendri and the best driver award was given to Hardev.
