To tackle the growing problem of non-recyclable plastic waste in Himachal Pradesh the Rural Development Department signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ambuja Cements Ltd on Thursday at Shimla.

 Under this partnership, Ambuja Cements will collaborate with the department to co-process non-recyclable plastic waste in its cement kilns for disposal of plastic waste through environment friendly techniques. 

Through the MOU the Ambuja Cement Ltd will share its commitment for fostering sustainable waste management practices through advanced technology of reducing pollution and minimizing landfill use. 

The Ambuja Cement Plant will process plastic waste from the districts of Chamba, Kangra, Shimla and Solan.

 Director of Rural Development Department, said, “This collaboration marks a significant step toward achieving the vision of a clean and green Himachal Pradesh”
