Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and other Congress leaders launched a scathing attack on the Central BJP government for allegedly discriminating against Himachal Pradesh, while reiterating various achievements of the Congress government, in a rally organized at Bilaspur to celebrate its two years rule, on Wednesday.

Addressing the rally at Luhnu ground, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said, “Despite the state facing several problems during the last two years of our government, the Modi government did not wholeheartedly support the state in mitigating the effects of financial crises due to huge debt left by the previous government and unprecedented natural calamity.”  

The CM said, “It is regrettable the Modi government did not give us any special grant during the natural disaster when huge loss of men and resources occurred in the state  and didn’t even give us our genuine dues.”

He accused, “The Central government at the behest of certain state BJP leaders tried to dislodge the democratically elected Congress government and even now trying to subvert the public mandate through conspiracies but people of the state are with us and we will fight for our rights.”  

The CM said,” Our government is committed to protecting the public interest and trying to make the state self-reliant through various measures, besides launching schemes for different sections.”  

The CM also highlighted different social welfare schemes and guarantees fulfilled by the state government like starting OPS for 1.36 lakh employees, giving monthly allowance to women, giving employment to nearly one lakh youths , starting various schemes for poor women and children, he  said our government fulfilled five guarantees within 15 months and gave relief to people during the disaster  . ”

AICC In charge of the Himachal Congress, Rajeev Shukla addressing the rally lambasted the BJP leadership for allegedly destabilizing the state government.

Deputy CM Muskesh Agnihotri also came down heavily on state BJP leadership for launching a false propaganda against the state government by spreading lies.

HPCC President Pratibha Singh also addressed the rally. All Congress leaders, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs among others were present on the occasion.
