The preparations are going on in full swing for the state level centenary celebrations of the founding of the Communist Party of India, on December 25 and 26 at Mandi.
Sharing this information in a press conference at Mandi on Friday, the convener of organizing committee Desh Raj Sharma said, “On the eve of the centenary celebrations, a seminar will be organized on December 25 dedicated to CPI veteran leader and well-known advocate Comrade Bhagat Ram at Vipasha Sadan”.
He said, “The keynote address in the seminar will be presented by renowned thinker Professor Apoorvanand from Delhi University while former judge of HP High Court Justice Vinod Kumar Sharma will be the Guest of Honour.”
Other speakers in the seminar would be Dr. Varyam Singh former chairman of foreign language department of Jawaharlal Nehru University and National Secretary of Indian People’s Theatre Association (IPTA) Shailendra Kumar.
Veteran working class leader Harish Guleri, well-known environmentalist Ratan Chand, Padmashree Nek Ram and several leaders of CPI and CPM will also participate in the seminar.
The main event will begin at 10 o’clock on December 26 with cultural presentations dedicated to the famous cultural worker late Lavan Thakur on Seri Manch.
A centenary conference will also be held at the Vipasha Sadan on December 26 in which Anne Raja CPI national secretary and women leader will be the main speaker.
The organizers of the function have appealed to all like minded people to participate in the celebrations.
Other members of the organizing committee were also present on the occasion.
