Several Left and Democratic organizations organized a march through the Bazaar of Mandi against communalism and threat to communal harmony with an appeal to maintain peace and communal harmony.

Carrying placards and banners the activists raised slogans against communal forces and in favour of communal peace,

Earlier, a convention was also held at Vishwakarma Hall of Mandi in which speakers raised their voice against the communalism being spread in the state and Mandi town, recently.  

They said that Mandi town has always been known for brotherhood and the forces that want to end brotherhood are doing such acts with political will. Being a conscious citizen, we all have to unite against those who create such a communal atmosphere and intensify the movement so that the constitution and secularism of the country can be saved, they said .

CPM leader Kushal Bhardwaj said, “A resolution to maintain peace and communal harmony was also passed in the convention and it was decided to form a Sadbhavana committee to request people for maintaining communal peace and harmony.”  

Several prominent citizens, former Prof. Ravi, former Executive Office Mandi Nagar Parishad Urwashi Walia, Advocates Desh Raj Sharma, Anil Sen, CITU leader Bhupinder Singh and MC councilor Rajender Mohan, among others also addressed on the occasion.
