The Leader of Opposition  and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur accused the state government for delaying the railway projects being implemented in the state,   by not contributing the state’s share for the projects on time.

Talking to media persons at Mandi on Wednesday Thakur said , “ Several railway projects are being implemented in Himachal Pradesh by the Central government as connectivity is very important in the hilly state but the state government is delaying the projects by not paying its share towards the projects.”

He said, “The Railway Board chairman has recently sent a letter to Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh expressing his concern for delay in getting stare’s 25 percent share in Bhanupali- Bilaspur – Beri railway project and 50 percent share in Chandigarh – Baddi railway project.”

Thakur said, “If the state government fails to meet its commitment on time the railway projects would be delayed and the development process in the state would be hampered.”

Taking a dig at Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the former CM said, “On the one hand the CM is saying there is no financial crisis in the state but the salary and pension is not being paid on time reflecting the poor state of the financial system in the state.”
