Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar has announced the election schedule for Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly elections.

Talking to media persons at New Delhi on Tuesday, the CEC said, “ The  Maharashtra Assembly Elections will take place in a single phase on November 20, 2024, while  Jharkhand Assembly Elections will be held in two phases on  November 13 and 20” .

The term of the Maharashtra Assembly ends on November 26, while the term of   Jharkhand Assembly will come to an end on January 5, 2025.

He said, “The by-elections of 48 Assembly seats and three Lok Sabha seats (including Wayanad seat of Kerala vacated by Rahul Gandhi) will be held on November 13. The counting of votes would be undertaken on November 23.
