Lieutenant General Ranjit Singh , who was promoted to the post in the Indian Army on Tuesday, has brought laurels for Hamirpur district and Himachal Pradesh. 

Lt. Gen Ranjit Singh, a resident of Hiranagar colony Hamirpur, was pinned up the promotion badges by his senior officers at Army Headquarter in New Delhi in the presence of his wife Yogita and his mother Radha.

He is a third generation Army officer in the Indian Army as his father Lt Col. Kishan Chand also served in the Indian Army and his grandfather Thakur Munshi Ram also served the Army during the British regime. One of his uncles Col. Ram Pal Singh also served in the Indian Army.

He was selected for NDA in 1986 and was commissioned in the Artillery Unit of Indian Army in 1989. During his service he commanded several important missions and also served as a military attaché in Russia and was promoted Major General in January 2022.

His relatives and people of Hamirpur are elated on the promotion of Lt. Gen. Ranjit Singh for his achievement.
