The Meteorological Center Shimla has predicted a wet spell for many parts of the state during the next four five days, which will continue till August 3.
As per weather forecast issued by the Center on Monday, “Heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted in many parts of the state during this period and light to moderate rains in other parts of the state.”
It said, “The monsoon activity is likely to increase in intensity and distribution during next 4-5 days with widespread precipitation of moderate intensity associated with occasional development of thunderstorm, lightning in the State during this period and with peak intensity on 31st July and 01st August.”
“The spells of heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Chamba, Kangra, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Mandi, Kullu, Solan, Shimla, Sirmaur from July 29 to August 3” , it said .
The Center has advised, “People not to visit places at higher reaches, avoid using electrical appliances during lightning and thunderstorms and not to avoid living at vulnerable places.”
