A heavy downpour in Tosh Nallah near Manikaran in Kullu district led to flash floods in the area resulting in damage to a few buildings.
As per information a water in Tosh Nallah started rising after a heavy downpour and a café and two shops were filled with slush in the wee hours and the flowing mud spread in the entire area . Local residents rushed out of their houses to save their lives.
The slush entered two shops-one of these a liquor shop and a café and damaged a few buildings; however no loss of life has been reported.
The area is quite prone to flash floods as severe damage was reported in the area during the last monsoon devastation in the state.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has instructed the Kullu administration to initiate rescue operations in the affected regions. He has also appealed to tourists not to go near rivers and streams and take safety measures .
