BJP candidate during the last Assembly election from Sujanpur constituency Captain Rajneet Rana (retired) joined Congress party at New Delhi.
Rana , who had lost the 2022 Assembly election from Sujanpur at the hands of Rajender Rana who after turning a rebel had joined BJP recently, by a narrow margin of 399 votes .
Rana joined the Congress in New Delhi in the presence of Congress in-charge of Himachal Rajiv Shukla and is likely to be fielded by Congress against Rajender Rana in the ensuing Assembly by-election as a BJP nominee.
Rana, disqualified from the HP Vidhan Sabha under anti-defection law had joined BJP some time back.
