The hectic activity continued in Himachal Pradesh Congress on Friday as PWD Minister and son of former six times Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Vikramditya Singh left for Delhi on an official tour and also met six rebel MLAs disqualified from the membership of HP Vidhan Sabha on Thursday for defying the party whip, in Panchkula on way to Delhi.
Vikrmaditya Singh is scheduled to meet Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and also hold talks with the party chief Malikaarjun Kharge.
Talking to the media persons at Shimla, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said,” Cabinet Minister Vikramaditya Singh informed him on Thursday that some of the Congress rebels had approached him and wished to come back”.
He said, “I have told Vikramaditya Singh to talk to the rebel MLAs and brief the Congress central leadership, as the family members of the MLAs have been urging for a rapprochement with the rebel MLAs.”
The disqualified MLAs are planning to move the Supreme Court to challenge their disqualification from Himachal Vidhan Sabha.
The effective strength of HP Vidhan Sabha has been reduced to 62 after disqualification of six rebel Congress MLAs and the number of the Congress MLAs reduced to 34 from 40, the BJP have 25 MLAs and three are Independent MLAs.
