Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced to give Rs 1500 per month for all women aged over 18 years under Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh-Sammaan Nidhi Yojana.
Making this announcement in a press conference at Shimla on Monday, the CM said, “The state government has fulfilled its fifth election guarantee given during the 2022 Assembly election, reflecting its sensitivity towards the women to empower them through financial aid.”
He said,” The government has already started the first phase of the scheme from February 1st , 2024 from Lahaul – Spiti district and giving Rs 1500 per month to every woman above 60 years ; with the announcement nearly five lakh women are likely to be benefited, an estimated Rs 800 crore would be incurred annually under the scheme and registration process to enroll the beneficiaries will begin soon,” the CM added .
