The Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) commissioned 100 Megawatt Raghanesda Solar Power Station in Banaskantha District of Gujarat On Wednesday.
Chairman -cum- Managing Director of SJVN Geeta Kapoor said, “The commissioning of SJVN’s eleventh power project has once again proved our dedication for enhancing the green energy landscape of the nation and further solidifies our position as a major player in the energy sector.”
She said, “The addition of the project has enhanced the installed capacity to 2377 MW and marks commissioning of SJVN’s second solar project in the month of February this year”.
She said, “The SJVN Green Energy Limited, the renewable arm of SJVN Limited had secured the 100 MW Raghanesda Solar Power Station at a tariff of Rs 2.64 per unit through Competitive tariff bidding conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited; the construction and development cost of the project is Rs 642 crores and generate 252 million units in the first year and cumulative energy generation in next 25 years would be 5805 million units.”
The company got the project financed from Japan Bank for International Cooperation under Global action for Reconciling Economic growth and Environmental preservation (GREEN) programme and the project will make significant contributions to the Renewable Energy Goals of the state of Gujarat and will also contribute in fostering energy security in the region.
