Himachal Pradesh Cabinet has decided to amend Shimla Development Plan by allowing construction in Green Belt area above Navbahar- to the church road and above Lakkar bazaar to IGMC Sanjauli Chowk road, besides allowing construction in the Green Belt area on plots not having trees.
The Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also decided to approve Van Mitra scheme of the forest department under which one Van Mitra in all 2061 Forest Beats would be engaged to ensure participation of local communities in forest conservation and also gave approval to fill up 100 posts of forest guards.
It decided to give approval to special relief package to disaster affected people announced by the CM from June 24 to September 30,
has decided to promote Amateur and Community Radios for alternate communication during emergencies in all districts of the state to provide effective information from emergency service managers and affected people for effective disaster management.
It decided to enhance the honorarium of jal rakshaks, multipurpose workers, para fitters and para pump operators by Rs 500 per month, gave approval to establish Chintpurni Baba Mai Dass Bhawan parking to Chintpurni temple passenger ropeway system in PPP mode and approved 234 routes of private buses and 100 tempo traveler routes.
It also gave approval for declaring Traffic Inspectors, Motor Vehicles Inspectors, Senior Motor Vehicle Inspectors of the Transport department and Assistant Sub Inspector and Head Constable of the Police Department as designed authority to compound the offences under various Sections of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
