The authorities of Shri Lal Bahadur Shashtri Medical College Nerchowk have suspended six (2022 batch) students found involved in two incidents of ragging in the college for three months.
Principal of the College Dr DK Verma said, “Two incidents of alleged ragging were reported in the institute on September 15, 2023; the meeting of anti-ragging committee was convened on September 16 and it found involvement of six senior students in ragging junior students of fresher’s batch -2023.”
Dr Verma said, “The committee after detailed inquiry concluded, few students were involved in the act of ragging and proposed penal action against six students in the incidents who have been suspended from their academic class for three months and from hostels for six months along with a fine of Rs 25000 each.”
