Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said Rs 70 crore would be spent for strengthening Chhaila- Yashwant Nagar road, considered a lifeline of people as an alternative route to Chandigarh via Solan .
The CM during his tour of Chopal area to take stock of losses caused during rains on Tuesday said, “ The state government is making every effort to provide help to affected people and district and local administration have been directed to give immediate relief of Rs one lakh to affected families .”
He also instructed the Public Works Department to restore all damaged roads at the earliest and announced to release Rs. 2 Crore for the restoring road connectivity for Chopal Division and Rs. 50 lakh for the Sainj Sub Division of Theog.”
The CM said, “The state government is constantly working to restore the road connectivity in the apple belts and has released Rs. 110 crore to restore the link roads and appealed to people to cooperate in this hour of crisis.”
He directed to shift the Kudi village to the Chopal Assembly segment and directed the local administration to identify the land for the purpose and assured financial help to people.”
Earlier, HPCC General Secretary, Rajneesh Kimta welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked him for extending assistance to the affected people besides funds for restoration works.
Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Media Advisor Naresh Chauhan , Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mohan Lal Brakta, MLA, Balbir Verma among others were also present in the function.
