The Supreme Court of India Collegium has recommended names of two lawyers and a juridical officer of Himachal Pradesh for appointment as High Court Judges.
Names of two lawyers Ranjan Sharma and Bipin Chander Nagi and judicial officer Rakesh Kainthla have been recommended for elevation as judges in Himachal Pradesh High Court.
Ranjan Sharma and Bipin Chander Negi are practicing senior lawyers in the HP Court Shimla , while Rakesh Kainthla is district and session judge Mandi.
The Supreme Court Collegium headed by Chief Justice Justice DY Chandrachud including Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Sanjiv Khanna cleared the names of three judges.
Chief Justice of HP High Court in consultation with two senior most judges had made the recommendation for appointment of the above names on December 5, 2022, which has been approved by the Supreme Court Collegium.
