Five persons lost their lives and three others were injured in a road accident on Sunder Nagar – Kateru road near Ghidi when a Bolero Jeep no HP 31- 8349 rolled down a gorge in Bhalana Khud on Friday morning.
A police source from BSL colony Police Post Sunder Nagar said, “Lala Ram (50), Roop Lal (55), Gobind Ram ((60) and Mohan (55), all from Doldhar village) and Sunil Kumar (35) from village Panjrah died in the accident.”
Three other persons have also been injured in the accident. The victims were taken to Sunder Nagar hospital and Medical College Ner Chowk for treatment.
As per information it was raining in the morning when the accident occurred. An FIR has been registered at BSL Police Post in the case.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has expressed deep shock over the accident and has sent a condolence message to the families of the deceased.
