Forty four bus passengers were injured in a bus accident near Dhamwadi (Rohru) in Shimla district on Friday morning after a HRTC bus was hit on a hillock by the driver in an effort to save the passenger at Adhuni Khad.
An official of HRTC Rohru Vimlesh said, “ The HRTC bus no HP10A- 6851 was on its way to Chirgaon from Tanghu when at about 7 am the driver observed the break of the bus had stopped functioning. As soon as he announced the brake failure 56 passengers traveling in the bus panicked and started crying”.
“But keeping his cool the driver hit the bus against a hillock to stop it from veering off the road and was able to save the lives of the passengers”, he added. .
Forty four passengers have received minor injuries in the incident and were treated at Community Health Center Sandasu (Chirgaon).
