Himachal Medical Officers Association (HMOA) has withdrawn their ongoing pen down strike with immediate effect after assurance from Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in a meeting at Shimla on Saturday.
The CM assured the office bearers of the association the Non practicing Allowance (NPA) for medical officers has not been abolished but has been withdrawn for the time being and thus their strike was not justified.”
The CM also accepted all other demands being raised by HMOA like delegating DDO powers to Principals of Medical Colleges, giving representation to doctors in HP Medical Corporation and time bound DPC’s for their promotion, besides assuring contractual doctors would not be deprived of NPA benefits.”
The CM said, “The state government has taken several measures for welfare of the medical fraternity and carried out reforms in the health sector, increased staff strength by filling up vacant posts and creating a department of emergency medicines in medical colleges.”
