Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has accused state BJP leaders for politicizing the murder of a youth in Chamba district.
In an informal chat with the media persons expressing his displeasure over the protests by BJP, the CM said, “This is the first case of its kind where all the accused have been arrested and are in police custody but BJP leaders are holding protests demanding action.”
He said, “ The hue and cry made by BJP leaders is uncalled for and unjustified as all murder case accused were arrested within 24 hours and their demand for NIA probe also seems illogical; if former CM is really serious about probe from the NIA it can be simply done by a single call to Home Minister .”
The CM said , “ BJP leaders are trying to exploit a sensitive issue like murder of a youth with an eye on 2024 Lok Sabha election for political gains as police investigation in burning of house of the murder accused has made is clear, Yuva Morcha activists five days after the murder allegedly set ablaze the house.”
He said, “The state government is committed to provide justice to the family of the victim and every effort is being made to penalize the murder accused as per law of the land.”
