A labourer working with the Public Works Department died on Saturday near Pandoh on Chandigarh – Manali National Highway.
A police source said, “Dumanu Ram (47), a resident of village Haton near Mandi, was trying to clear a drain on the highway along with other labourers when a boulder hit him after a landslip at about 2.30 pm. Four other workers working on the site had a narrow escape.”
The victim was working under HPPWD division Thalot and was immediately taken to Zonal Hospital Mandi but succumbed to injuries.
