Himachal Pradesh Cabinet has decided to give Rs 1500 per month as Indira Gandhi Mahila Samman Nidhi to eligible women over 18 years of Spiti valley including nuns and Chhomos .

The decision to this effect was taken in the Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Sukhvider Singh Sukhu , held at Shimla on Wednesday

The Cabinet also  gave its approval to fill up 50 posts of Junior Engineer (Civil) and 30 posts of Junior Draughtsman in the Public Works Department, 15 posts of Assistant Engineers (Civil) and 50 posts of Junior Engineer (Civil) in Jal Shakti Vibhag through direct recruitment, fill up three posts of Assistant Registrar in Cooperative Societies and fill up four pots of lecturers in Rajiv Gandhi Post Graduate Ayurveda College Paprola.

It was decided to constitute a Cabinet Sub Committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri with Agriculture Minister  Chander Kumar and Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh as Members for bringing out a White Paper on the financial position of the State.

The cabinet also gave its nod to introduce e-stamping in the State for the collection of stamp duty to promote ease of doing business and stop printing of stamp papers with immediate effect and completely switch over to e-stamp papers after April 1, 2024, besides increasing court fee from Rs 6 to Rs 20 for filing applications / petitions and for attestation of affidavits.

It decided to increase Certain Goods Carried by Roads (CGCR) tax on Tobacco in all forms including Pan Masala, Pan Chatney and preparations containing tobacco or tobacco substitutes from Rs. 3 per  to Rs. 4.50 per quintal.

The Cabinet decided to give Rs. 600 in lieu of school uniforms through DBT to all eligible students, increase honorarium of Nambardars from Rs 3200 to Rs 3700, increase honorarium of part time chowkidars working in Revenue Department to Rs 5500.

The Cabinet decided to constitute the Atal Tunnel Planning Area and freeze the Existing Land Use of Atal Tunnel Planning Area including revenue villages of   Lahaul-Spiti.
