An eight years old school girl was crushed to death by a speeding jeep reportedly driven by the son of a Congress leader, on Chandigarh – Manali National Highway near Tarot village under Dhanotu police station of Mandi district.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunder Nagar Dinesh Kumar said , “ The school girl Akshita crossing the road after alighting from a bus was hit by a speeding Thar Jeep no HP- 31 E -1395 injuring her seriously on Thursday evening ; she was taken to Ner Chowk Medical College but was referred to PGI Chandigarh , where she succumbed to injuries.”
As per a report “, The jeep was driven by Tushar Chauhan son of Naresh Chauhan, a Congress candidate from Nachan Assembly constituency during the 2022 Assembly Election and a case has been registered against him in the Dhanotu police station.”
