BJP national president JP Nadda has appointed Rajiv Bindal as president of HP state BJP. The office order to this effect was issued on Sunday by BJP office New Delhi.
State BJP president Suresh Kashyap had resigned from the post of state BJP president on Saturday.
Bindal, who represented Solan and Nahan Assembly constituencies five times in Himachal Vidhan Sabha, also remained Health Minister in Dhumal government and was elected speaker of Vidhan Sabha in previous Jai Ram government.
A hard core RSS activist, he was also appointed state BJP president but had to resign from the post due to alleged closeness to a Health department official booked for irregularities in purchase of kits during COVID -19 epidemic.
