The President of India Droupadi Murmu was given a rousing reception on her arrival at Kalyani Helipad, Mashobra in Shimla on Tuesday .
Himachal Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu accorded a warm welcome to the President at Kalyani helipad. The family members of the President are also accompanying her.
Speaker, Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Education Minister Rohit Thakur among other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
The President later graced the opening of Tulip Garden at the Retreat (her official residence in Shimla .
A civic reception and dinner is being hosted by the state Government at Raj Bhawan in her honour on Tuesday .
In his welcome address the Governor said, “ The President is an inspiration to us all and her efforts in social welfare and education sectors are exceptional, especially in promoting innovation and her experience in public life will be helpful in guiding us.”
Speaking on the occasion, the CM greeted the President on her maiden visit to Himachal Pradesh and said that she was an inspiration to all as she has been consistently working for the upliftment of the backward and weaker sections of society.
