Himachal Pradesh government has decided to give Rs 600 as a uniform allowance for the government school students studying from Class 1 to 8 for providing them school uniforms.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said, “The amount would be transferred to Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to accounts of the mothers of the students benefiting nearly 5.25 lakh students.”
He said, “The state government has taken this decision to reduce financial burden on parents of the students, shorten the lengthy process of providing the uniforms and bring transparency in paying the amount through the DBT.”
The CM said, “The state government is committed to provide better education to students and steps are being taken to open Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding Schools in every Assembly constituency, to provide proper environment and modern facilities to students.”
