Himachal Pradesh government will earn Rs 2800 crore by auctioning retail liquor vends in the state during 2023-24 under the new excise policy.
Making a statement in the HP Assembly on Monday Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said , “ The state government would earn Rs 2800 crore during the year 2023-24 through auctioning of retail liquor vends against estimated revenue of Rs 2357 crore , which is forty percent higher than the revenue likely to be earned by auctioning the vends with ten percent increase.”
The CM said, “The state government has also decided to levy a cess of Rs 10 on every liquor bottle through which the state government would earn nearly Rs 100 crore.”
He said, “The new excise policy has brought competition and transparency in auctioning of liquor vends.”
