The Himachal Pradesh government signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia Project with HLC Green Energy LLC on Tuesday.
The MOU for Rs 4000 crore project was signed in the presence of Industries Minister Harshwardan Chauhan by Director of Industries, Rakesh Prajapati and Managing Director of HLC Green Energy, Sanjay Sharma.
Expressing his happiness over the development Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said, “This a step towards converting Himachal Pradesh as first Green Energy state 2025 since the Green Energy has potential to reduce the greenhouse gas emission significantly, besides reduction in fertilizer’s prices by its import.”
He said< “ Himachal Pradesh is already known for Green Hydel energy and this move would now encourage new clean energy projects such as ethanol, green hydrogen, green ammonia and solar power and also making the state an ideal for other states.”
The CM said, “The state has a clear-cut advantage on account of abundant green hydel energy and abundance of water resources and assured full cooperation to the company.”
The Industries Minister said, “The company intends to produce 0.3 million metric tons of Green Hydrogen and 1.5 million metric tons of Green Ammonia per year.”
