Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu exhorted youths of the state to preserve the culture and folk traditions by displaying these at national level and abroad.
Addressing a gathering in a function organized by Himachal Students Union in Punjab University auditorium at Chandigarh on Sunday he said, “ Himachal is known for its unique cuisines, culture and folk traditions, which attract a large number of Indian and foreign tourists to the state.”
He said , “ It is our duty to spread our culture across national boundaries to popularize our culture and traditions, which play an important role in strengthening our economy, since youths are real strength of the country they should play a role of torch bearers also”, he added.
Sharing his memories of student life and political journey from an ordinary student activist to the state CM, he said, “Students should set goals and make every effort to achieve the goals to make a useful contribution to society.”
He said, “The state government is committed to provide quality education, improve technical skills and start new courses like artificial intelligence in the curriculum for getting more employment opportunities.”
The CM said, “The state government is working for vyavastha parivartan and taken several new initiatives like starting mukhya mantri sukh ashrey yojna for destitute and orphans to provide them facilities to live an honorable life, besides converting the state into a Green State by 2025.”
He announced a cash grant of Rs Three lakhs to the organizers.
