To strengthen the economy of the state, the state government has prepared a plan to tap tourism potential of the state by developing different sites to attract more tourists.
In this regard different activities would be held at different places to attract tourists round the year, besides developing adventure, religious, health and heritage tourism.
A spokesman of the state government said, “ For this purpose helipads would be constructed at all district headquarters and existing airports would be expanded to provide facilities for landing of big aircrafts.”
“Emphasis would be laid on developing Kangra district being a land of temples, monasteries, churches, water reservoirs, lofty snow ranges of Dhauladhar, lakes, billing paragliding, etc and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Thakur is committed to make Kangra an attractive tourist destination,” he added.
The Government also mulls to develop as many as 25 sites to attract tourists under Vibrant Village Programme, besides raising a tent city at the base camp of Dhauladhar range.
In a recent meeting with the Goa Chief Minister both the States have agreed to collaborate to amalgamate marine and mountain experience together to make it a unique destination in the world by unlocking the potential of 4Ts – Trade, Tourism, Technology and Talent through exchange of ideas.
Activities like Mountain biking, Golf, Hot-Air ballooning, Heli-skiing, winter games like Snow Marathon and Ice Hockey etc will be promoted and different activities will be organized at Sissu.
