Himachal Pradesh Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu called on HP Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhavan on Friday and apprised him about new initiatives being taken by the state police.
The DGP said, “The police have made a comprehensive plan to deploy police for the areas bordering with China after visiting the borders and working on checking drug abuse through a crackdown on smugglers in the state.”
He said, “The number of cases of crime against women and children are also being dealt with sternly, besides taking measures for ensuring smooth flow of traffic and saving precious human lives in road accidents, besides taking strong action against organized crime and illegal mining.”
“The Punjab and Himachal Police have also decided to work jointly to root out drug smugglers, gangsters and criminals, especially operating in border areas of the both states,” he added.
The Governor lauded the efforts of the state police and expressed hope it would work vigorously to make the state crime free.
