Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu while addressing on the second day of 85th plenary session of Indian National Congress at Raipur in Chhattisgarh said, “The state government has restored old pension scheme for 1.36 lakh state government employees of the state in the first Cabinet meeting of the Congress government to fulfill the election promises.”
Expressing gratitude to the Congress High Command for giving him an opportunity to serve as Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, the CM assured to continue to work for the welfare of the people and helping in return of Congress in the state government .
Highlighting the contributions of Nehru-Gandhi family in the development of the country the CM said, “The family has made supreme sacrifices to defend integrity of India and proved the family is not power hungry as Sonia Gandhi declined the offer to become PM of India; former PM Rajiv Gandhi had strengthened the democratic setup by giving voting rights to voters of 18 years and giving 33 percent reservation to women in PRIs etc.”
He said, “ The Bharat Jodo Yatra undertaken by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had covered more than 3500 kilometers from Kanyakumari to Srinagar to spread the message of unity and harmony among the people, besides raising issues of public concern .”
