Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu called upon several Union Ministers during his tour to New Delhi to take up various state government projects with the Central government.
The CM met Union Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy and urged him to include places of the tourists’ interest of the state under next phase of Swadesh Darshan Yojna II as the state is bestowed with bounty of natural beauty and has immense potential to develop tourism.
He said, “ Water bodies, mountain ranges and religious places in the state attract a large number of tourists and state government intend to develop the Pong Dam in district Kangra and Janjehli in Mandi district to facilitate the tourists .”
Reiterating his resolve to develop district Kangra as the tourism Capital of the state, the Chief Minister said, “The state government is working to prepare a plan for this, which includes developing a tent city in Dhauladhar range, besides developing 25 places and heritage sites for the tourists.”
The CM also met Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development Parshottam Rupala and urged him to sanction a project for providing milk chilling facility and transportation, as the state government intends to set up clusters for milk collection from villagers and transport it through refrigerated vans to chilling plants, besides strengthening cooperatives in this sector.”
Calling upon Union Education Minister Dharmender Pradhan the CM urged him to start the construction of the Central University campus as the land has already been transferred to the University.
The CM said, “The Union Ministers have assured the state government to help the state government in every possible manner to initiate new projects.”
