Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur flagged off Shimla – Delhi Air Flight from Jubbarhatti Airport on Monday, virtually.
The ATR -42-600 aircraft of Alliance Airline took off from Shimla resuming the air service from Jubbarhatti Airport after a gap of almost two years.
Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, General VK Singh also participated in the programme through virtual medium from Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion the CM said, “Air connectivity remains a big challenge in hilly areas and the state government is making constant efforts to increase air connectivity; the Shimla- Delhi flight would be operated seven days a week.”
He said, “ Fifty percent seats out of total 48 seats would be sold on subsidized fare of Rs 2480 which is likely to boost tourist inflow to Shimla.”
