Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has announced to enhance the uniform allowance of Police Officers from Rs 3675 to Rs 15000 per annum.
Addressing the HP Police Service Officers Meet on Monday at Shimla the CM said, “The State Police is one of the most disciplined forces of the country which is a matter of pride for everyone; it has maintained a high standard of professionalism despite tough conditions in the state.”
He said, “The state government has tried to provide best working conditions and facilities to keep their morale high and nearly 2500 posts were filled up during the last four and a half years, hundreds promoted, several police stations opened and New Police District at Nurpur was started for effective policing and to maintain law and order.”
The CM said, “The state government has also decided to upgrade 16 posts of DSPs to ASPs for removing stagnation in the promotions and asked the police force to upgrade technology and capacity to meet the challenges, besides improving coordination with people.”
Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu said, “The Police Department has been strengthened, 350 vehicles provided for effective mobility and Rs 300 crore have been spent on creating infrastructure and modernization of the Police Force.”
