Himachal Pradesh Cabinet has decided to clamp Corona Curfew (Lockdown) in the state from May 7 midnight to May 16 midnight to break the chain of the rising number of COVID-19 cases.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday at Shimla decided all government and private offices and business establishments would remain closed during this period barring health institutions and departments maintaining essential services like electricity, telecommunication, water supply and sanitation etc.
All educational institutions have also been closed till May 31 and examination of class 10th of HP Board of School Education cancelled and it was decided to promote the students of 10th to next class as per norms suggested by CBSE board. The examination of XII class of HP Board students and annual examinations of college classes have been suspended till further orders.
The Cabinet also allowed running of public and private transport services with fifty percent sitting capacity and industrial establishment as per guidelines issued by the state government. However, civil works would continue on construction sites and in horticultural, agriculture and other projects.
The Cabinet gave its nod to create a specialized and dedicated separate service in the State ‘H.P. Revenue (State Taxes and Excise) Services in place of existing posts of the officers in the department to improve efficiency and tax collection.
The Cabinet gave its approval to upgrade Regional Hospital Una to 300 bedded Hospital along-with creation of 76 posts of different categories, create Jal Shakti department’s circle at Dharampur, open a new division at Thanaklan and shift staff of Division 2 Una to Basal.
Earlier, an all party meeting was also held presided over by the CM in which situation arising out of COVID -19 was discussed. The all party meeting decided to donate one month’s salaries of MLAs to CM relief fund. Vidhan Sabha speaker Vipin Singh Pramar, Education Minister Govind Thakur, Congress leaders Mukesh Agnihotri, Asha Kumari, Dhani Ram Shandil and CPM MLA Rakesh Singha attended the meeting.

It is good decision to clamp complete lockdown in the State. On the other hand Covid Vaccination is to be looked into seriously which is going on in a very slow pace in the State. More vaccination center are needed in the State with full infrastructure.
You are right MP Singh ji. There is an urgent need to ramp up vaccination drive and create more inoculation centers. Thank you so much.
