Five young men lost lives in a car accident near Barthan in Chauhar valley of Mandi district on Saturday night.
According to information five youths were traveling in a Maruti car on late Saturday night from Dhamchyan to Barot after attending a marriage function, when the car in which they were traveling fell into a gorge.
SP Mandi Sakshi Verma said , “ All five persons travelling in a car died on the spot after the accident but the incident was reported on Sunday morning by shepherds as nobody noticed the car or deceased at night ; the deceased have been identified as Rakesh, Gangu, Karan , Sagar and Ajay and all were between the age of 25 to 30.”
The Police took the bodies to Joginder Nagar hospital for the postmortem.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has expressed grief over the loss of five young lives and sent his condolences to the family of the deceased.
