Himachal Pradesh Gramin Bank Karamchari Sangathan (HPGBKS) and Himachal Pradesh Gramin Bank Officers’ Organization (HPGBOO) held a day long dharna in front of HP Gramin Bank Head Office at Mandi on Monday to highlight their demands and protest anti –employees’ policies of the Bank Management.
The leaders of bank employees said, “The dharna was held to demand facilities for the staff and oppose wrong policies of the bank management. More than 450 officers and employees from every corner from all 12 districts of the state participated in the dharna.”
Vishal Sharma, spokesman bank employees said, “The bank management is deliberately not implementing 12th BPS in letter and spirit despite approval of the Ministry of Finance and their demands, which were agreed by the management after a bilateral agreement, have also not been implemented.”
He said , “ The bank management has not released benefits to the bank staff , interfering in paying salaries to safai karamcharis , allegedly using abusive language for the staff, adopting pick and choose policy in promotions and recognition , besides allegedly issuing threats to the bank staff .”
The staff organizations said, “The Ministry of Finance has cleared the 12th Pay Agreement for Rural Banks through a letter dated 08/07/2023 in which it was clearly stated this agreement is to be implemented at par with Pubic Sector banks but the bank management is dilly – dallying its implementation.”
Condemning the ‘doctorial’ attitude of the bank management the staff organizations have accused the management of curbing union activities.
The bank staff organizations has warned the bank management to fulfill all their l demands failing which they will observe one day strike on October 28.
