Former Chief Minister of West Bengal Buddhadeb Bhattacharya passed away on Thursday in Kolkota after prolonged illness.
Bhattacharya remained Chief Minister of West Bengal from 2000 to 2011. He represented Jadav Pur Assembly constituency as CPM MLA for 24 years.
Known as intellectual, writer, play artist and a fine gentleman, he was known as suave politician.
A committed marxist leader he remained Polit Bureau member of CPM for long time.
